BBC100 Rhanna dy Stori - Share your Story

Pleser mawr oedd cael croesawu teithiau ‘BBC100 Rhanna Dy Stori’ a ‘Taith Gyrfaoedd Bitesize’ i’r Ysgol ddoe fel rhan o ddathliadau canmlwyddiant y BBC.

Trwy gydol y dydd bu llysgenhadon y BBC, sef Jennifer Jones, cyflwynwraig newyddion BBC Wales Today, Manon Williams rheolwraig cyfarwyddo Cranc a Kees Huysmans, perchennog cwmni Tregroes Waffles yn rhannu eu hanes gyda disgyblion blynyddoedd 8 i 10 ac yn sôn am rywbeth maen nhw wedi’i brofi a’i oresgyn. Cafodd y disgyblion cyfle i ofyn cwestiynau ac i gael gwybod mwy am y llysgenhadon gan gynnwys eu hanes a’u gyrfa.

Diddorol iawn hefyd oedd gwrando ar drafodaeth y tri panelydd, ar yrfaoedd mewn Adrodd Straeon. Yn ystod y cyflwyniad soniwyd am yr ehangder o swyddi posib sydd ar gael a hynny ar garreg eich drws ac wrth gwrs am bwysigrwydd straeon mewn amrywiaeth eang o yrfaoedd gwahanol gan gynnwys hysbysebu, adroddiadau Newyddion neu Chwaraeon, dylunio gemau ac ysgrifennu sgriptiau.

Diolch iddynt am sgwrs ddiddorol ac am ysbrydoli cymaint o ddisgyblion i ddechrau meddwl am yrfa posib yn yr amryw o feysydd.

It was a great pleasure to welcome the 'BBC100 Share Your Story' and 'Bitesize Careers' tours to the school yesterday as part of the BBC's centenary celebrations.

Throughout the day, the BBC ambassadors, Jennifer Jones, BBC Wales Today news presenter, Manon Williams, manager director of Cranc and Kees Huysmans, owner of the Tregroes Waffles company shared their stories with pupils from years 8 to 10 and talked about something they have had to test and overcome. The pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about the ambassadors including their history and career.

It was also very interesting to listen to the discussion of the three panelists, on careers in Storytelling. During the presentation it was mentioned about the breadth of possible jobs that are available and that on your doorstep and of course about the importance of stories in a wide variety of different careers including advertising, News or Sports reports, game design and script writing.

We thank them for an interesting conversation and for inspiring so many pupils to start thinking about a possible career in the various fields.
